Personal Summary
CNM with more than one year experience in the clinical setting. I consider it a privilege to assist and guide women and their families through their pregnancy and birth experience and I am proud of my professional and personal ability to do that well. As a CNM, I strive to continue to build the clinical and intrapersonal skills necessary to have a positive impact on this population. My professional background is one of a seasoned RN with 22 years experience in a large level III hospital, primarily in labor and delivery.

Work Experience
2005-2007 Kaiser Permanente Beaverton Clinic
CNM in the clinic setting at Kaiser Permanente’s Beaverton office. Responsible for low-risk obstetric care as well as care of non-pregnant women of all ages for gynecological care and general health maintenance. Ratio of OB/GYN of approximately 4:1. Average clinic day of 15-18 patient visits. Responsibilities include managing pregnancy complications like gestational diabetes and mild pre-eclampsia. Proficient in early ultrasound, IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies and care of menopausal women. Full prescriptive privileges.

1988- 2005 Providence St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center
Staff RN on the Labor and Delivery unit. Worked in a variety of different positions ranging from staff nurse to relief charge. Primary responsibility was direct patient care for all levels of patients. Frequently called upon to serve as a resource for less experienced staff and peers alike. Precepted several new labor nurses. Able to provide leadership, facilitate teamwork and collaborate with other medical disciplines to deliver excellent patient care.

1986-1988 Providence St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center
Staff RN on the Post-Partum unit. Cared for mothers as well as infants in the newborn nursery. Strongly focused on patient teaching and breastfeeding support. Able to apply med-surg background in caring for complex patients. Attended deliveries as member of the newborn resuscitation team.
1983-1986 Providence St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center
Staff RN on a surgical unit. Worked as a new graduate, providing pre-and post-operative care for patients undergoing a variety of abdominal surgeries, as well as cancer and colostomy patients.

Clinical placements while in Graduate school
Spring 2005
Integration, Fort Defiance Indian Hospital in Fort Defiance, Arizona.
- Worked full time both on the labor unit as well as in the clinic, providing comprehensive midwifery care to Navajo women of childbearing age.

Winter 2005
Oregon Health Sciences University, Oregon
- Intrapartum care during 24 hour call once a week. Conducted deliveries under CNM supervision and provided labor management for county health clinic patients (including a large percentage of Hispanic women). Also worked one day per week alongside a WHNP with the focus on gynecology, doing mostly well women exams and peri- and post-menopausal care.

Fall 2004
Oregon Health Sciences University, Oregon
- Intrapartum care, one 24 hour call once per week, as outlined for the Winter 2005 term (above).

Spring 2003
Providence Portland Medical Center , Oregon
- Intrapartum care during 24 hour call once a week. Responsibilities included newborn care and well baby exams. Also worked four hours per week in a clinic seeing pregnant patients for pre-natal care.

Winter 2003
Kaiser Permanente, Oregon
- Worked alongside a Certified Nurse Midwife in a clinical setting, providing pre-natal care for patients one day a week. Performed new intakes for OB patients as well as routine prenatal visits and post-partum exams.

Professional Membership
Active in the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

Fluent in Dutch and French. Proficient in German. Familiar with basic Spanish
