Jabke Buesseler
(Full résumé)
Jabke S. Buesseler, CNM, ARNP, RN-C
Jabke joined our practice in July 2007. She is originally from The Netherlands, and moved to the US after finishing high school there. From a very early age, she wanted to work in the medical profession. She was strongly drawn to working with mothers and babies and especially enjoyed assisting with childbirth.
After completing her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1982 she soon found her way to the labor and the delivery unit where she spent most of her 22 years as an RN. When her 4 children were mostly through high school, she returned to school and in 2005, completed her Master Degree in Nurse Midwifery at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
In her first position as a CNM, she spent almost two years with Kaiser Permanente providing prenatal care and well women care for women in their teens through the menopausal years. She is very excited to join Pacific Midwifery in this much smaller practice, and she enjoys providing more comprehensive and personalized midwifery and gynecological care in this setting.
Jabke has a strong interest in general wellness, and especially enjoys guiding women through pregnancy and childbirth while focusing on this normal but very unique and special time in their lives.
Jabke is married, has 4 adult children and two grandchildren. Her hobbies include almost any kind of outdoor activities, but she especially enjoys hiking, working with her two horses, making music, reading and traveling.
Last but not least, her name is pronounced “Yapka”.
