What We Do
As members of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) we provide healthcare “with women, for a lifetime,” including annual exams and pap tests, family planning, infertility, care during pregnancy and childbirth, PMS, through and beyond menopause.
Annual Exams & Paps
Our exams include Pap smear, breast and pelvic examination, breast self-exam education, referrals for mammography and laboratory studies as needed, and general wellness counseling. We can prescribe vitamins & supplements, various contraceptives, antibiotics and other medication or health care products that are needed.
Family Planning & Infertility Counseling
We prescribe oral contraceptive pills, patches and rings, insert IUDs and fit diaphragms; discuss health benefits, as well as risks and provide individualized explanations and management of all birth control options, including natural family planning. We do basic workups for infertility, teaching regarding optimal fertility awareness and provide referrals as needed, for enhanced conception.
Maternity Care & Preconception Counseling
We advise how to achieve optimal health before and during pregnancy; how to miminize risks, and screen for potential problems. During prenancy, your health and your baby's development is of utmost importance to us. We suggest early prenatal care, beginning with a thorough health and family history and basic prenatal education by our nurse. We specialize in personalized, comprehensive, routine prenatal care and delivery.
Menopause Management
We include a complete health history, assessment and physical examination, with additional focus and counseling on the symptoms that may develop during this transition time. We can order bone density studies, and other testing appropriate for the mature woman. Conventional HRT, complementary medicines or personalized combinations may be recommended.
PMS & PMDD
We can assist the client with PMS and other female disorders, discussing pharmacological, botanical and lifestyle change regimens.
