We believe in a holistic approach to care; incorporating not just the body, but the mind and spirit as well. As such, your family, including your children are welcome to join you at your visits as much as you wish their involvement.
Our mission is to provide informational, interactive, and integrated healthcare to women in the SW Washington/Portland area.
We believe women can be active participants in their own healthcare. With our backgrounds in nursing, we have a broad range of knowledge and we love to share that information with our clients to help educate them about their bodies. We are excellent listeners to your unique needs and personal stories. Ultimately, women themselves know their bodies the best. Armed with information, we can work together to create a safe and happy birth for your baby; or for the gynecologic patient, a course towards disease prevention and health promotion.
As Certified Nurse-Midwives, we believe that every individual has a right to safe, satisfying health care with respect for human dignity and cultural variations. We support each person's right to self-determination, to complete information and to active participation in all aspects of care.
We work in a multidisciplinary fashion, incorporating Western medicine philosophies as well as Eastern methodologies. We network with physicians, social workers, acupuncturists, naturopathic doctors, nutritionists, physical & massage therapists, chiropractors, and other healers as needed.
OB Hospitalist MD's are present at the Family Birth Center 24 hours a day. They provide surgical assistance when a C-Section or medical intervention is required.
